【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtomeasurethevolumerateofflowofwatermovinginriversandstreamsandmovingoverorthroughlargeman-madestructures.Itcanalsobeusedtocalibratesuchmeasuringstructuresasdamsandflumes.Measurementsmaybemadefrombridges,cableways,orboats;bywading;orthroughholescutinanicecover.Thistestmethodisusedinconjunctionwithdeterminationsofphysical,chemical,andbiologicalqualityandsedimentloadingswheretheflowrateisarequiredparameter.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthevolumerateofflowofwaterinopenchannelsbydeterminingtheflowvelocityandcross-sectionalareaandcomputingthedischargetherefrom(Refs(1-7)).178;1.2Theproceduresdescribedinthistestmethodarewidelyusedbythoseresponsibleforthecollectionofstreamflowdata,forexample,theU.S.GeologicalSurvey,BureauofReclamation,U.S.ArmyCoprsofEngineers,U.S.DepartmentofAgriculture,WaterSurveyCanada,andmanystateandprovincialagencies.Theproceduresaregenerallyfrominternaldocumentsoftheabovelistedagencies,whichhavebecomethedefactostandardsasusedinNorthAmerica.1.3Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofcurrentmeterstomeasureflowvelocities.Dischargemeasurementsmaybemadetoestablishisolatedsinglevalues,ormaybemadeinsetsorinaseriesatvariousstagesorwater-levelelevationstoestablishastage-dischargerelationatasite.Ineithercase,thesametestmethodisfollowedforobtainingfielddataandcomputationofdischarge.1.4MeasurementsforthepurposeofdeterminingthedischargeinefficiencytestsofhydraulicturbinesarespecifiedinInternationalElectrotechnicalCommissionPublication41179;forthefieldacceptancetestsofhydraulicturbines,andarenotincludedinthistestmethod.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Likeothertechniquestomeasuretoughness,thistestmethodprovidesameanstodetermineparametersofamaterialatstrainratesclosertosomeend-useapplicationsthanprovidedbylow-speeduniaxialtensiletests.Dynamictensilebehaviorofafilmisimportant,particularlywhenthefilmisusedasapackagingmaterial.Thesameuncertaintiesaboutcorrelationswiththicknessthatapplytootherimpacttestsalsoapplytothistest(seesection3.4ofTestMethodsD1709).Hence,noprovisionforrationalizingtounitthicknessisprovided.Also,noprovisionismadefortestingatnon-ambienttemperatures.Thistestmethodincludestwoprocedures,similarexceptwithregardtosamplesize:ProcedureAfor60-mmdiameterandProcedureBfor89-mmdiameter(commonlycalledthex201C;Spencerx201D;).Thedatahavenotbeenshownrelatabletoeachother.Severalimpacttestmethodsareusedforfilm.Itissometimesdesirabletoknowtherelationshipsamongtestresultsderivedbydifferentmethods.Astudywasconductedinwhichfourfilmsmadefromtworesins(polypropyleneandlinearlow-densitypolyethylene),withtwofilmthicknessesforeachresin,wereimpactedusingTestMethodsD1709(MethodA),TestMethodD3420(ProceduresAandB),andTestMethodD4272.ThetestresultsareshowninAppendixX2.DifferencesinresultsbetweenTestMethodsD1709andD4272maybeexpectedsinceTestMethodsD1709representsfailureinitiatedenergywhileTestMethodD4272isinitiationpluscompletionenergy.Somefilmsmayshowconsistencywhentheinitiationenergyisthesameasthetotalenergy.ThisstatementandthetestdataalsoappearinthesignificanceandappendixessectionsofTestMethodsofD1709andD4272.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofresistanceoffilmtoimpact-puncturepenetration.Knowledgeofhowtheimpactenergyisabsorbedbythespecimenwhileitisdeformingundertheimpactloading,andthebehaviorofthespecimenafteryielding,isnotprovidedbythistest.Noprovisionismadefornonambienttemperaturesinthistestmethod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection7.Note18212;lThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
